My primary research interest is the genetics of ischemic stroke. I run a 50 center NIH-funded study of ischemic stroke-affected sibling pairs known as SWISS and a 5-center NIH-funded ischemic stroke genetic association study known as ISGS. I am currently developing a program to study post-stroke cognitive impairments.
